Sarah Benavides

I am a very lucky mom of two amazing boys- Dominic in 2nd grade and Julian in 4th grade.  I live in Vallemar with my boys, husband Rick and cat Jaxon.

We love so many things about Vallemar School- the teachers and staff, the friends and parents, the sense of community and of course the amazing PTO!  This will be my fourth year on the PTO in roles ranging from VP of Fundraising to Activities and Programs Coordinator.

On weekends, you can find us at the beach, movies, soccer, exploring around the creek, reading, crafting, baking, and catching up on our favorite shows.

We love to see new faces and ideas at PTO Meetings!  Please join us!

Abby Dale

Co- Vice President, Fundraising

I am originally from Colorado and have been in the Bay Area for 14 years. My husband and I moved to Pacifica from San Francisco when I was pregnant with our first child, and we fell in love with the community and the people here.

This is my third year on the PTO, first year as Co- Vice President, Fundraising, and  I am excited for another great year with this group. Our two kids love the school, one in second and the other in fourth. Please contact me with any concerns or questions.

Tim Paulsen

Vice President, Volunteers

I am a father of two young guys and an alumni of Vallemar. My family has always been my number one priority and I believe in fostering an enriched environment for my kids. I've been an active volunteer over the last two years and a coach in both AYSO and PALL leagues. I am really excited about my role as the Vice President of Volunteers and believe I can offer a diverse perspective and I am a unique addition to the board. We are all truly passionate about Vallemar and seeing our kids thrive. I look forward to meeting more parents and faculty throughout the school year, and welcome your suggestions and ideas.

Julie Rose

Publicity Secretary

I have two children at Vallemar School, a son in eighth grade and a daughter in fourth grade. Along with my wife, Lynda, I have been actively involved with the Vallemar Parent-Teacher Organization since 2011.  I have tackled various tasks in my time here, such as chairing fundraising events, creating and maintaining our website, maintaining our social media presence, working on spiritwear, producing graphic materials and producing and sending out the school newsletter, the Vallemar Information Packet.  I also served as a Pacifica Education Foundation board member and I am passionate about supporting education in Pacifica.

I started my career in the non-profit sector at the YMCA working with their board and organizing fundraising campaigns.  For the past 18 years I have worked at Levi Strauss & Co. which in addition to making jeans, is a company which is passionate about its values and community work.

Every Vallemar parent, guardian, teacher and staff member is a member of our PTO and I look forward to working with all of you to do great things for our school and our community.

Brandy Vazquez

Recording Secretary

I have always said that what makes Vallemar great are the parents and teachers! I am excited to continue to be a part of the Vallemar PTO so that I can help ensure a better, more enriched education for all students. This will be my 7th year and final year on the Vallemar PTO Board. Sadly, my youngest child will be graduating this year.

I am originally from Southern California and I attended UC Santa Barbara.  I have been a teacher at Vallemar for 22 years. I have taught eighth grade, sixth grade, first grade and now teach Kindergarten one day a week with Mrs. Glasgo.  My daughter graduated from Vallemar in 2018 and my son will graduate this year with the Class of 2020. In my spare time I like to run, read, cook and be crafty. My favorite things are sushi, sunny days, hearts and family.

Kristen Van Antwerp

Activities and Programs Coordinator

A native of Puyallup, WA, I’ve been in the bay area for 17 years.  My husband and I moved to Pacifica in March 2017 and feel we have truly found where we belong.  We have two children, Alexandria (second grade), and Arthur (pre-K).  I currently work part-time as a family law attorney and love spending my non-work time helping out at Vallemar both in and out of the classroom.  I am a strong believer that parents play an integral part of their children’s education, and am so proud to be a part of this amazing group of parents who dedicate so much time and love to the children at our school.  I am looking forward to my second year on the PTO board here at Vallemar.

Lisa Efstratis

K- 2 Grade Parent Representative

This is my first year as a member of the Vallemar PTO and I’m excited to be a K-2 representative. I know how overwhelming it can be starting a new school and I’m happy to help new parents in any way!  Our son Nico will be entering 3rd grade this year and daughter Lucia is starting 1st grade.  I grew up in Pacifica and moved back here with my husband, Paul, in 2012.  I currently work from home for a technology company and have more than 10 years of experience in technology marketing and communications.  In my free time you might find me reading, binging Netflix or listening to a true crime podcast.  Our family is so thrilled to be part of the thriving Vallemar community!   I look forward to working with you!

Lorraine Whitley

6-8 Parent Representative

I am excited to come back as a PTO Board member to serve as one of the 6th-8th Grade Representatives this year. I was the Accounts Payable Treasurer for five years and decided to take a year off from being a board member last year. As a full-time working mom, the PTO helped me stay connected with the school and Vallemar community. I am a proud mother of an 8th grader and this year will be bittersweet. It is an honor to work alongside this wonderful group of parents for the last time. I look forward to coordinating the 8th grade events that will showcase our children’s accomplishments at Vallemar and show our appreciation to the staff for helping them grow into magnificent young adults.

I am a self admitted fashion failure, addict of all things colorful (particularly hair dye), and wannabe home chef. I am a very proud mother of two, Avery, an eighth grader and Quinn, a fourth grader. I work full-time as Director of Marketing for a large insurance agency which allows me to tap into my creative side. But my passion for public education drives me to stay as involved as possible in school and district matters.  I have been on the PTO board for eight years. It is important to me to be part of a team that leads by positive example, encourages volunteerism, community participation and supports Vallemar’s teachers and students.

Michelle Gray

Co- Vice President, Fundraising

I am the proud mom of Ruth (4th Grade), Oscar (Kindergarten) and an old puppy Bola (12) aka Lady Barks a Lot.  I work in clinical trials and also teach at SFSU.  My husband and I moved to Pacifica 13 years ago from Boston and love it here.  We keep pretty busy with soccer, swimming, legos and bike riding among other things.  This year will be my third year on the VPTO Board and I am happy to serve as Co-Vice President, Fundraising with Abby!  I also coach soccer and serve on the AYSO Board.  We love the Vallemar community and are looking forward another great year.

Jaime Blanchard

I am the proud mom of Tristan, who is entering the third grade.

This year is my second year on the board and I will remain in the role of Accounts Payable Treasurer.  I look forward to another great year with a great community!

Antonia Urbina

Accounts Receivable Treasurer

My daughter, Milani, now a sophomore at Oceana, is a Vallemar graduate, and my son, Orion, is in 8th grade.  That makes me a Vallemar parent of 11 years!  I'm a former preschool teacher, but just before my first was born, I decided to leave the teaching world to be a stay-at-home mom.  This will be my 6th and final year serving on the Board, and it's where I've found and taken so much inspiration from some of the most caring, hard-working, dedicated and creative people and built the greatest relationships.  You can find me on campus running this way or that, driving on field trips, helping out in the library, or just standing around chatting with my friends and fellow Vallemar parents.  When I find a (rare) free moment, I love to read, plant, and craft away at my desk making cards.

Serena Roberts

Parent Council Representative

My husband and I both grew up in Pacifica and we love raising our girls in our hometown.  Olivia graduated from Vallemar and is now sophomore at Terra Nova, and Amelia is in seventh grade. I have been a Vallemar parent for 11 years.  I've had great experiences volunteering in my daughters' classes, helping out in the library, and running the Shopping…It’s A Trip fundraiser. This will be my third year on the PTO and I'm excited to work with a great group of people!

Danniela Gillion

Activities and Programs Coordinator

I was born and raised in San Francisco and spent 6 years living in Pacifica when I was in elementary school. I have always loved the strong community Pacifica has to offer! My husband and I moved here when our daughter Eva (entering 2nd grade) was born. We also have a daughter Lily (3.5) who can't wait to be a Stallion!

I am excited to work with the Vallemar community in my first year as a PTO member. I currently serve on the Pacifica Education Foundation board as the Membership Coordinator and School Ambassador. Providing our students (and students in all of Pacifica) quality and diverse education programs is something I care deeply about and am proud to be a part of at Vallemar School.

When I am not supporting Vallemar, PEF, and leading a Brownie troop, I work full-time as a Manager, People and Culture at a FinTech company in downtown San Francisco.

Jenai Wilmoth

K-2 Parent Representative

This year will be my first year serving on the Vallemar PTO as your K-2nd grade rep. I am a native of Pacifica and a former Vallemar student.

I’m a lucky mom of two wonderful children-Nylah entering Kindergarten this year and Tyler entering 3rd grade.  I work as a Registered Nurse in the Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit managing clinical trials at UCSF Medical Center.  In my spare time our family likes to go camping with our trailer, traveling to new places and watch our children play sports in this amazing community.

My passion is helping people and I look forward to guiding you and your family through this exciting new school year.

Hello Vallemar Family!  My name is Brianna Moniz and this will be my second year serving on the Vallemar PTO.  I an very excited to be a part of this wonderful organization and being a fellow alumni of Vallemar Elementary School only makes this opportunity more near and dear to my heart.

A little bit about myself…I have been lucky enough to call Pacifica my home my entire life. My wonderful husband Danny and I are the proud parents of our daughter Shea, who will be entering 4th grade this year.  I also have 3 fur babies, our dogs Hula, Bindi, and Parker who pretty much accompany us wherever we go :) I currently work as a Registered Nurse Supervisor for an Adolescent Psychiatric hospital where I work with children from the ages of 12- 17 years.  In our spare time my family enjoys camping, hiking with our dogs in our beautiful mountains, and relaxing with family and friends.  I look forward to working with you all this year!
