Thank you to everyone who attended the PTO meeting yesterday! We discussed a range of topics including proposed updates to By-Laws including a change to ballot procedure and adding co-chairs to for the VP Volunteer and Middle School Rep roles. Updated By-Laws are posted in the office and we will vote on them at the next meeting. We also discussed exciting programs for the year, from vAcadamy and Direct Donation Challenge (see below) to an update to our Spirit Wear (more info coming soon!) We are very excited to offer a wide variety of classes, with great programs for children in all grade levels - TK and up! Then check out the course catalog and register on Homeroom. 8th Grade Permission Slips available As mentioned last week, there’s a great line up of activities to celebrate the graduating class throughout the year - permission slip is due Nov 4, but why wait? Remember: The Pacifica School District encourages all families to submit the Alternate Income Form! Even though all students will receive free school meals this year. Completing the form helps support school funding and provides your family with additional benefits, such as access to after-school programs, discounted utilities, and eligibility for P-EBT benefits. San Francisco Boys Chorus Auditions San Mateo Auditions for the SF Boys Chorus are September 7th and open to boys aged 5-14 throughout the Bay Area. This prestigious chorus offers a choral experience that enhances focus, builds teamwork, and fosters friendships through high-quality vocal training and performance opportunities. No prior experience is required, and boys in K or Pre-K are automatically accepted into the Junior Chorus. Rehearsals and placement auditions are available in San Mateo, San Francisco, San Rafael, and Oakland. For more information or to sign up, visit www.sfbc.org/sing. 2025 Calendar HIP Calendar Contest HIP Housing is a nonprofit that provides thousands of people in San Mateo County with a place to call home. HIP Housing’s 2025 calendar is distributed to over 3,000 homes and businesses and is asking the community to help highlight what home means to them. Twelve winning drawings will be featured in the calendar, winners will receive gift certificates, and the top prize includes $100 for both the student and their teacher or club leader. Entries are due by September 20, 2024, with winners announced on October 18th.
