Welcome to the 8th Grade page for the 2021-2022 school year. This page will have important information to keep you up to date on all the wonderful activities for the 8th graders this year.

8th grade monthly parent meetings are important planning meetings and all 8th grade parents should plan to attend. All meetings will be held online via Google link.
Meeting Dates: October 6th
Time: 7pm - 8pm
We need your support to make all the celebrations for Vallemar’s graduating class of 2022 possible. We recognize that we may not be able to offer all of our in-person traditions, however we plan to celebrate our wonderful 8th graders in many special ways that will still meet the criteria for safety during this unprecedented time. The 8th grade direct donation ask letter has gone home today with students and the funds are due by November 1, 2021. If you are unable to contribute the direct ask amount, please let your childs teacher or Ms. Lobao know, and the PTO will make sure no child is left out of any activities.
$45 Special Class of 2022 Sweatshirt
$55 Graduation Celebration (We will need funds to support graduation whether that be an outdoor venue or the tradiotnal theater at Terra Nova. Right now, we are planning or an outdoor graduation.
$80 Dinner dance - June 3rd
This is being held at the Pedro Point Fire House as of now. We will be checking with Ms, Lobao on the current county guidelines in January, and will make the final decision on the type of dinner dance that we can have and where at that time.
$40 Great America- June 7th
If your child has a season pass, please deduct that amount from your direct donation and check that box on the form when returning your payment.
$30 Ropes Course - Date TBD
We are looking to do this activity in the spring time, providing current guidelines or Covid and student/staff safety. Formal Graduation Photos (These are optional and parents/guardians pay for them when the student takes the photos just like school picture day)
TOTAL for all activities planned is $250 (Payment is due November 1st)
Your check should be made payable to Vallemar PTO. Please write “8th Grade Activities” and your child’s name on the check and turn it in to your childs teacher along with the signed forms. Please provide one check, no cash.
You may also pay online with a credit card via PayPal. Click the Make Payment link to the right to finalize your online payment. You will need to provide the student and teacher name. Online payments will also include 3% charge to cover PayPal fees.
The PTO will not issue refunds- unless the event is canceled.
*Please see your child’s teacher or the principal ASAP if you have financial concerns or would like to pay in installments. We do not want money to be a deciding factor in your child participating in any of the activities.
*If you’d like to contribute extra to cover the cost for families who are experiencing financial hardship, please do so. It would be greatly appreciated!
